Lago di Nemi
The volcanic lake that gives the village its name, also called the Mirror of Diana. Walks along the shore, traditional restaurants and a view you won't forget.
Nemi and its area
Nemi is not just any village. It's a small town in the Castelli Romani, 30 minutes from Rome, overlooking a volcanic lake surrounded by ancient woods. In antiquity, this is where the temple of Diana Nemorensis stood, goddess of the hunt and protector of women. The lake was called the Mirror of Diana. It's no coincidence that Love Me Nemi was born here. A few steps from our door you'll find Lake Nemi, the historic centre with its medieval alleys and artisan workshops, the Museum of the Roman Ships of Caligula — one of Lazio's most extraordinary archaeological sites — the seasonal festivals (from June's strawberries to September's wine, with Borgo diVino in Tour) and Palazzo Ruspoli. From Nemi you can easily reach Castel Gandolfo, Ariccia, Frascati, Grottaferrata, the other gems of the Castelli Romani. And Rome, in just 30 minutes by car.
